Membership
The Company offers various categories of membership:
Dancing Membership
To join as a Dancing Member you have to pass and audition, held
annually in October. Applicants for Dancing Membership participate in a ballet
class which is adjudicated by a panel of experts. Successful candidates are
invited to join The Company as either Junior or Senior Dancing Members.
Junior Membership - you must have reached 10 years of age and be under 16 on 1st September of the year of the audition, and have passed a nationally recognised ballet examination at Grade 2 or above.
Senior Membership - you must have reached 13 years of age on 1st September of the year of the audition.
Unsuccessful candidates may audition in future years, and are welcome to join The Company as Associate Members. To retain Dancing Membership you must attend dance classes on a regular basis at a recognised dance school or college.
Associate Membership
Associate Membership, which is non-dancing, is open to anyone interested in
The Company who supports its aims. Associate Members are able to take part in all
non-dancing activities of The Company. Associate Members may include past
Dancing Members, parents, other relatives and friends of dancers, dance students
too young to join The Company and candidates unsuccessful at their initial
application for Dancing Membership. They are entitled to the same discounts and
priority booking benefits as dancing members. We are most grateful to our
Associate Members for the support they give to The Company. Special rates are
available for Joint Husband and Wife Membership.
Corporate Membership
Corporate Membership is open to any school of dancing
which shares and supports The Company’s aims. A nominated representative of a Corporate Member is entitled
to vote at the Annual General and Special Meetings. Corporate Members can arrange for their students to
participate in Company courses at advantageous rates.
